EMPLOYEE CORNER

Chop Suey Cake

2 eggs

2 cups white sugar

1 large can crushed pineapple it its own juice

2 cups flour

2 tsp baking soda

½ tsp salt

½ cup walnuts

Mix until well blended. Grease and flour a 9x13 inch pan and pour mixture into prepared pan. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.

Frosting

8 oz cream cheese

1 stick oleo

4 cups powdered sugar

1 tsp vanilla

Beat until smooth, spread over cooled cake.

EXTRA! EXTRA!

Staff from all departments were treated to ice cream during our afternoon break on August 15th. It was a very refreshing treat on a hot summer day!

Mike Limbaugh (Shipping dept.) and his wife Julie welcomed their first child together, a son, on July 2, 2007. Wyatt Joseph Michael, weighed in at 8 lbs. 9 oz., 21 inches long. Proud Grandma is Emery-Pratt employee Linda Limbaugh (Shipping dept.)

During a thunderstorm on June 27th, Emery-Pratt employees were part of an "electrifying" picnic held on the dock. Hungry employees were treated to hot dogs and hamburgers on the grill sponsored by Bill Gaffney, PDR.

IN THE SPOTLIGHT

Charlie Snider was chosen for this issue of our newsletter for his level of commitment to the Emery-Pratt Company.

Charlie is our Outside Account Manager for the state of North Carolina and is responsible for calling on libraries in that state.

Charlie is an honest, dependable, responsible, hard working employee of our company who loves to occasionally surprise his customers with candy treats! If one of his customers asks a question that he cannot answer, he will work diligently to find the answer. Charlie enjoys representing the Emery-Pratt Company and has been employed with us for 7 yrs.

When asking fellow employees about Charlie, we found that Charlie is 'a very friendly and caring individual.'

Charlie and his wife Tamra have four married sons: Chuck, David, Drew and Tim, along with seven grandchildren whom enjoy boating with their grandpa! Along with boating, Charlie's other hobbies include skiing, tubing, fishing, hunting, and playing trombone in his church orchestra. Charlie's favorite books include the Bible, Left Behind Series and Commentaries.

Emery-Pratt is blessed to have someone like Charlie on staff and we are grateful for the super employee that he is!

This provides you with the ability to get the material shelf ready and allows you to have the titles on hand to place on the shelf on the actual lay down date of the title in question. If you receive cataloging and/or processing directly from Emery-Pratt you may still be able to receive the material shelf ready before the lay down date. We will do our best to meet your needs.

Your signature of our affidavit states that you agree not to place any material on your shelves before the lay down date provided on your Emery-Pratt invoice. It's as simple as that! Interested?
